Texas Tech University is located in Lubbock TX. Formed in 1925 as Texas Technological College, the first classes opened with 925 students. The name was changed to Texas Tech University in 1969. Texas Tech joined the Big12 in 1994. Current enrollment levels are around 25000 students anually.
