Archives
I'm sure you are well-intentioned, but please stop automatically adding archives to every citation. When you do that it adds archive links even when the archive is useless. In particular, the archive at web.archive.org is not capable of archiving the actual content of books on Google Books; so those links never preserve the relevant content of the page.
If you want to add archives to every link "just in case", at least manually remove the archives from citations where the url is for Google Books. That would avoid padding Wikipedia articles with excess bytes that aren't helpful to readers or editors. It would probably be better not to archive every link in the first place, since it's a waste of the Wayback Machine's resources to create, store, and host an unhelpful archived webpage even if the archive link is manually removed from Wikipedia. – Scyrme (talk) 16:45, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
