"One More Time..." (stylized in all caps) is a song recorded by American rock band Blink-182. The song was released on September 21, 2023 through Columbia Records, as the second single from the band's ninth studio album of the same name. It was written by bassist Mark Hoppus, guitarist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Travis Barker, who produced the song alongside songwriters Andrew Goldstein and Aldae.
Background
The song focuses on the band's history, and the interpersonal relationships between its members and its many break-ups. The song directly addresses Hoppus' battle with cancer and Barker's fatal 2008 plane crash.[1]
Composition
People said, "Unlike their riotous single “Edging,” which dropped in October 2022, “One More Time” is a more emotional, pop-punk ballad." [2]The song was described as a piece of "pop punk nostalgia" by Rolling Stone.[3]
Music video
The song's music video was directed by Carlos López Estrada,[4] and features the band performing the song on a set that switches between backgrounds from the band's previous music videos, as well as other key memories from the group's past.[1]
Reception
Rolling Stone's Jon Blistein wrote that the tune "finds Blink indulging in a bit of endearing, well-earned pop-punk nostalgia."[1]
