Cousteau is a contributor of the English and Spanish Wikipedias. He joined the wikipedia-es community in 2008, and eventually joined wikipedia-en in 2013 (initially as user Cousteau2, until he usurped his current username). Cousteau's editing style is characterized by impeccable ortography and scientific rigor.[citation needed]

The nickname Cousteau is a reference to French oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, which the user knew from documentaries such as The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau.
