Not attributing?

Hello. You are creating maps that are, tbh, visually pleasant. However, you are claiming that it is your own work while it is clearly copied. The Palmyrene map is created by me based on my own research in different academic works to get a better idea about the borders of that empire. You copied my map and claimed it as your own while adding more cities and changing the colour. Attribution is an important policy and you ought to add a note in your map referring to the source (in the case of Palmyra, my map). Attar-Aram syria (talk) 17:15, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I mentioned the map is identical with the previous one but did not gave enough detail. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I am editing the page again with the map I made and I'll give your credit this time. Plus as you may guess my map is not directly copied. Otherwise this would be useless. I am also adding more key settlements which are important to notice alongside with regional names and notable nations or peoples living around the area. Better for educational purposes. Thanks for reaching me out nevertheless. I'll try to be more careful.

I think your map is better. Maps arent my speciality. And yes, your map isnt copied but derived. The attribution Im talking about should be on the wikimedia page. For example, see this derivative from one of my maps:https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Syria_under_the_Seleucids_92_BC.svg
So in the source section of the description you indicate that it is a derivative and paste a link to the source. Cheers.--Attar-Aram syria (talk) 17:30, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
