FEU Roosevelt, formerly Roosevelt College, is a private, non-sectarian educational institution based in the north eastern area of Metro Manila. Operating five branches, it became part of the FEU Group of Schools in 2016.

FEU Roosevelt offers basic education, high school, and tertiary programs across its three functional campuses, serving the neighboring communities of Pasig, Marikina, and Rizal.

Throughout its history, the school has been committed to academic excellence, fostering a strong sense of community, and preparing students for success.

Brief history

FEU Roosevelt was established in the city of Marikina in 1933[1] by former Mayor Wenceslao Dela Paz as the Marikina Academy, making it one of the oldest academic institutions in the area. The school saw success after it ranked 19th in a government evaluation, increasing its popularity. The academy eventually closed after the death of Mayor Dela Paz in 1944.[2]

As part of postwar reconstruction and rehabilitation, it was assessed that there was a lack of secondary schools in Marikina. A group of noble educators, led by Engr. Deogracias F. dela Paz, initiated to bring back the academy, incorporated the organization, and named it Roosevelt Memorial High School (RMHS) after the late wartime US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Over the years, RMHS grew and developed by branching out to several locations: San Juan, Cubao, San Mateo, and Quirino. As it began to offer tertiary and post graduate graduate programs, it was renamed as Roosevelt College, Inc. (RCI). To keep up with the continuous expansion, RCI shifted its focus to systems and management enhancement programs that greatly benefited the institution.[3]

Acquisition

In 2016, the Far Eastern University in Manila acquired majority of the institution, disclosing to the Philippine Stock Exchange, that its board approved to acquire RCI "up to 97.42 percent but no less than 73.99 percent" costing up to P1.25 billion.[4][5] This placed RCI under the roster of the FEU Group of Schools and later rebranded as FEU Roosevelt in 2019.
