Wadah Khanfar is a Jordanian journalist who joined Aljazeera in 1999.

His first role in the organisation was a correspondent in South Africa. He also worked as a correspondent in New Delhi and in Afghanistan in 2002.

He became a bureau chief in 2003 in Baghdad before being appointed the Managing Director in the same year.

He is currently the Director General of the Aljazeera TV network - a position he has held since 2006.
