Hipposauridae is an extinct family of biarmosuchian therapsids from the Late Permian of South Africa. It includes the genus Hipposaurus, and possibly the genera Hipposauroides and Pseudhipposaurus. A closely related biarmosuchian is Ictidorhinus, which has been placed in the family Ictidorhinidae.[1]
