My name is Ian Fulguirinas, dragonkillernz is my online pseudonym. I am currently residing in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am studying a diploma in electrotech, with a focus in computer engineering, at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology.

The name

The pseudonym has it's origins when I was 12 years old, a suggestion for an email address handle from a friend. To reduce complications and make registration with new sites as easy as possible, I tried to use the same pseudonym as much as possible, and it soon became synonymous with me on the internet.

Usually dragonkillernz is left uncapitalised, although here on wikipedia, it has been capitalised, which is perfectly acceptable, although I'm pretty sure I never intended it to be and I can't seem to change it...

My views[1]

Religion

I am not a religious person. I'm not even very spiritual, in that I don't believe in any kind of human spirit. However, that does not, in any way, indicate that I am without morals. I just do not believe that our morals and good will toward others should stem from a guilty conscience driven into us by leaders, or a desire to appease our non-existent representations of our ethics and scruples, but our morals should be derived from a genuine desire for communication, understanding, peace and co-operation.

Economics

I am a very firm anti-capitalist. Capitalism might look good through the eyes of propoganda and greed, but it is, in now way, fair. Some people have told me that capitalism is fair because people who work hard get rewarded. Capitalism does not implicitly reward people who work hard. In fact, it encourages people to maximise personal profit while minimising personal labour. An example of this; "according to "United for a Fair Economy," in 1982 CEOs of major corporations in the U.S. earned 42 times the annual wages of the average worker; in 2002 the ratio stood at 282:1"

Politics

This is a very tenuous subject and will probably put forth a vague response...

Nominally, I am a democratic socialist, in that I support socialism and I think that society needs to be heading in that direction. However, I would not, even in a position of power to do so, force anybody to subscribe to my political philosophies, which is where the democratic part from the name comes in. I believe that eventually, socialism will be continually voted into power of politics and economics, allowing humanity to flourish and prosper. The important note here, is that in what I perceive to be a true democratically socialist state, all the means of production (land, industry) would be owned by the people, via the state. Instead of a totalitarian state enforcing socialism, the state, which would be self-regulated by laws and constitutions, would maintain and manage resources, instead of private parties. However, democratic power is proportional to the happiness of it's people, so if the state begins to abuse it's ability to regulate resources, it's power would be replaced.

Having said that, there is a perceived (and probably very real) notion that democratic societies have a tendency to oppress, not through the barrel of a gun, but through the tube of a television (although less and less T.Vs have tubes :P). What I mean by this is propoganda. To stay in power, it is not neccessary to do what is best for society, merely, to make society believe that you have and will do what is best.

So really, I have rather ambiguous, and perhaps a little contradictory, political views.

My contributions

In regards to Wikipedia and contributions, I tend to stick to minor edits, with a keen eye for small details. I've always considered myself quite good at English, and almost have a sixth sense in the realm of spelling and grammar. This leads to many of my "contributions" just being noticing typos and fixing them.

I would include external links, however, if you want to find me anywhere, just search for dragonkillernz.
