Image

[edit]
  • I have restored the image. The notes on the Library of Congress catalog page indicated that the photograh shows a drawing of the prison in Cahaba and that the faint caption "Andersonville" was the photographer's misidentification which he later attempted to erase. • Concur with Dystopos. I've just restored the infobox and image again, even if the LOC is wrong, there's no reason to delete the infobox. If you are so sure of what Castle Morgan looked like, maybe you have a more accurate representation. If not, we'll have to use the existing image, since evidently at least some scholars believe it to be a representation of Cahaba Prison. Did you ever stop to consider that it may have been draw from a soldiers description, thus the artist took creative license and added the hills in the background. The prison itself, drainage, and adjoining RR tracks match Cahaba Prison fairly accurately. This sketch certainly doesn't match Andersonville. The only other representation of Cahaba Prison that I've ever seen was a rather crude map, and it isn't in the public domain as far as I know. Altairisfartalk 15:12, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
