Plot edits

Having just re-read this novel, I happened across the Wikipedia page while looking up something else. I've corrected a number of major errors in the Plot section; among them:

  • Mal arrives at Rose's compound separately (and after) the Church agents
  • No one "tracks" Rose to his base, least of all the Church agents (who are captured when they accidentally blow their cover); Mal goes there openly
  • The agents and Mal are totally unaware of each other until Rose has already started Kitten's torture
  • A considerable amount of time passes between when Rose arrives at the AAnn base and when the Vom escapes
  • Rose was not the brother of Chatham Kingsley (I have no idea how anyone could come up with that particular lunacy)
  • No one "recovers" the bloodhype from Rose; the Vom inadvertently consumes it along with the drug dealer

One thing I have not yet fixed is the use of "Kitty" as a nickname. No one refers to Lt. Kai-sung as "Kitty". She's called "soft angles", and Peot has a word-picture for her, but never does anyone call her "Kitty".

I'm a fan of Foster and I was pleasantly surprised to find so many pages about his work, but it'd be nice if people read the book before writing the plot summary. 2603:6080:1103:EA00:0:0:0:5 (talk) 00:15, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
