Is it permissable to have the quote from Dickens here or is it copyrighted? --JiMternet 19:09, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Nicholas Nickleby was written in 1838, so it's out of copyright. Robinh 07:13, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Fair enough. JiMternet 12:32, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
On another point, what's the rationale behind the quote - it doesn't really tell us much about doorknockers. JiMternet 20:35, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hi. Well I think quotes about door furniture are interesting and encyclopaedic. Quotes can give a useful historical perspective on things like doorknockers. And even if they are not directly informative, they are relevant to the topic. OTOH, it would be good to get a non-Dickens quote.

You may think it's intresting but that doesn't neccesarily mean it's encyclapedic, I suggest this section either be removed or retooled as to provide some context of Door Knockers importance in litterature. Deathawk 21:24, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
