When did Jabala become part of the County of Tripoli? It was originally in the Principality of Antioch: Tancred, Prince of Galilee captured in in 1111 when he was regent of Antioch, and it was part of the dower lands of Alice of Antioch. Choess 19:44, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's a mistake. I'm changing it to Antioch.--Cuchullain 00:07, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

A user recently moved this page to Jablah by cut and paste. This is not recommended; I was going to merge the histories over there but after checking, I found that Jabala actually garnered many more Google hits, despite the user's assertion of the opposite. I've merged in some of this info, but it seems a move is unnecessary.--Cúchullain t/c 04:24, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, yes, I moved using cut and paste, because the article Jablah was already existing. There must be a better way, I don't know how. As for the hits, you might notice that when searching for Jabala you will get more hits, however not all these results refer to the city in question (Only a few at the beginning do, such as the wikipedia page Jabala, and the rest are about different things). In the case of a search for Jablah, on the other hand, I think most of the results are about this city. Thanks. Asabbagh 04:57, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the most appropriate modern name to use is Jableh. It is used by several credible sources including Syria Gate.com, the UNESCO and the UN.[1][2][3] I've requested a move in WP:RM. Regards, Anas talk? 10:37, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
