Stub

[edit]

Howdy Esculenta. What's your criteria for deciding when an article is a stub? Mine used to be 4 paragraphs or less. Then I notice you reverted me on something about a week ago so I changed it to 3 paragraphs or less. Now you reverted me on this one which is 3 paragraphs. Thanks. –Novem Linguae (talk) 17:31, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You should familiarize yourself with WP:STUBDEF, particularly the Croughton-London rule of stubs. This is an uncommon species about which there is not a lot of literature, and not much more can be written. Esculenta (talk) 17:36, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So stub status is determined by whether or not the article writer thinks it can be expanded further? That's surprisingly subjective. Noted though. I'll slow down on my species stub tagging. –Novem Linguae (talk) 17:48, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the article writer typically has a better idea of the literature space associated with an article than drive-by article taggers, so it's much less subjective than you assert. Good idea to slow down the article tagging. Esculenta (talk) 17:53, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
