Karen Fraser is a British advertising executive who has held various roles in the advertising industry. She was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to advertising, equality and diversity.
Fraser founded and led Credos, the advertising industry's think tank, for 10 years. Under her leadership, Credos published reports on the advertising industry's contribution to the economy and society. She also created the 'Advertising Pays' series of reports, which examined the £140 billion contribution of advertising to the UK economy.
Prior to her work with Credos and the Advertising Association, Fraser founded and led a limited company for 8 years, selling reports based on her Ethical Reputation Index to clients in various industries. In 2007, she was awarded a place on the Harvard Business Review's annual Breakthrough Ideas List for her work on corporate reputation and sustainability.
Throughout her career, Fraser has held executive roles at various media and advertising companies, including Ipsos, Carat/Dentsu, Leo Burnett/Starcom, Turner Broadcasting, MTV Europe, and ITV. She has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Philosophy, Statistics and Computing, and a Diploma in Financial Management. Fraser is a member of Women in Advertising and Communications London (WACL) and has been involved in promoting diversity and inclusion within the advertising industry.
