Peter Nielsen Klitz (8 July 1874 – 3 March 1955) was a Danish painter.[1] He is best known for his landscapes and thatched cottage works.
Biography
Klitz was born in Assens, Denmark. He was the son of Jørgen Thomsen Klitz and Mette née Pedersen. His father was a prominent master blacksmith.[2] In the 1890's Klitz spent a short time in Zurich, Switzerland[3] and then went to Germany to be educated at The Rosendaler Art School in Munich. He then began having exhibitions as early as 1900.[4]
Most of his paintings are in private collections around the world.
