I don’t know how Wikipedia editing works, and I hope someone who reads this does. The Tailypo myth describes a creature who only leaves the chimney of the hunter’s house behind because it is used to tell kids why there are random chimneys everywhere in Georgia. The real reason is that Sherman’s March to the Sea burned all the houses down. It is not about “anxieties”, it is how rural people avoided explaining scorched earth policies to their children.
