Bahireira Tumwekwase Sylvia known as Omushaho is a Ugandan politician and a nurse by profession. She is the current Woman Member of Parliament for Kamwenge District in the 11th Parliament.   She is also a member of Uganda's Parliamentary Health Committee and Government Assurances Committee.
Background and Education
Bahireira Tumwekwase Sylvia was born in Kamwenge District in western Uganda in the Tororo Kingdom. [1]
In 2019, she joined Clarke International University and then International Health Sciences University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing in December 2022. She has a master's degree in nursing from Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi.[2]

Career and professional work experience.
After graduating from Clarke International University, Bahireira was appointed as senior nursing and midwifery officer at Rukungyu Hospital in Kamwenge District. She then worked as the acting health officer for Kamwenge District after completing her master's.[3]
Bahireira later left government employment and joined a Belgian developing agency as she was pursuing her political goals. In 20020, she contested as the NRM flag bearer but lost to Dorothy Kabaraitsya.[4]
She did not give up; she continued and stood for woman member of parliament for Kamwenge district as an independent candidate in the 2021 general elections where she got 38, 309 votes and merged as the winner against Dorothy Kabaraitsya who had 36,601 votes. [5]
