A singular, highly personal analysis of the novella would seem contrary to anyone's interest here. The citations have little to do with the content but rather represent references one might deem "name-dropping." The article should be removed / redone.----

Does a large percentage of this article really consist of the quotation of a lengthy untranslated passage? That's dreadful. john k (talk) 06:54, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the entire thing is dreadful —Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.5.212.14 (talk) 04:55, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The most dreadful thing is that this hasn't changed in almost a year. If I had read the book I'd replace the whole quote and its commentary with a terse summary of the plot. Mr0t1633 (talk) 05:16, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would offer to translate the untranslated passage, but that alone is not going to rehabilitate this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.162.30.20 (talk) 22:11, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The "context" section, with its descriptions of romanticism and realism, sounds like it was written by a high school student whose native language was not English.

Publication Date

[edit]

The infobox claims Sarrasine was published in 1831, but the lead section claims it was published in 1830. Hansolo318 (talk) 14:49, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
