From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Incorrectly, Čech–Stone compactification is often referred to as Stone–Čech compactification against all usual conventions in naming theorems in mathematics. Due to lack of interest from wikipedia editors the incorrect terminology is the default on Wikipedia. See also the discussion on Talk:Stone–Čech_compactification#toc-Naming_injustice?.
