The Fessenden School is a private day and boarding school for boys founded in 1903 by Fredrick Fessenden. It is located in West Newton, Massachusetts, United States, on a 40-acre (0.16 km²) campus. Fessenden goes from kindergarten through grade nine. According to the first school catalogue in 1903, “It will be the aim of this school to train a boy along right lines from the beginning, to teach him how to study and form correct habits of work, and to inculcate the principles which are to regulate his daily conduct and guide his future life.” Fessenden seeks to develop students who are well-rounded in academics, arts and athletics. It is big on sports and competes against schools such as Fenn, Fay, Nobles and other independent schools in greater Boston.
