Other common names of the compound include, 2-phenyl-1-benzofuran, 2-phenyl-benzofuran, and 2-phenyl-benzo[b]furan. The compound has a molecular weight of 194.23 g/mol. 2-Phenylbenzofuran is considered an irritant, is harmful if swallowed, and may cause long lasting harmful effects to aquatic life[3].
