Why do many admins block for 31 hours? Well...

  1. Blocking times are not set on stone (IAR, common sense, blah blah blah).
  2. Many vandals, upon being blocked, just go away to do something else and come back next day at the exact same time for the block to expire to continue vandalizing. Using a 31-hour range interferes with this pattern.
  3. 31 is a prime number but 24 is not.

Hope that explains it. -- ( drini's vandalproof page ) 21:25, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
