Maris Kreizman is an essayist and critic with a bi-weekly column at Lit Hub.[1] whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal,[2][3] The New York Times,[4] The LA Times,[5] Vulture,[6] Vanity Fair,[7] BuzzFeed,[8] Esquire,[9] GQ,[10] and more.
She's also the author of the Book Slaughterhouse 90210.[11][12]
Career
Kreizman was listed as one of the Publishers Weekly Notables of the Year,[13] and was profiled in Refinery 29 after "landing her dream job."[14] The Observer then followed a day in her life.[15]
Maris started a nationwide Book of the Month club to promote diversity in reading. The LA Times profiled her book club, saying, "It's not your grandma's book of the month club."[16] Amy Poehler's Smart Girls talked about Kreizman's contribution, through her book club, to Women's History Month.[17]
Poets & Writers magazine called Kreizman one the funniest voices on Twitter,[18] and Refinery29 said she's changing the literary landscape.[19] Vogue called her and her husband, Josh Gondelman the "George and Amal of the Twitter-Lit World[20]."
Personal Life
Kreizman is an alum of the University of Pennsylvania.[21] She lives in Brooklyn[22] with her husband Josh Gondelman[23] and their pug Bizzy.[24]
