Manual of Article Creation

To create an article,

  1. On Wikipedia, search Wikipedia:Article wizard.
  2. Follow all of the steps then enter a draft name and click create.
  3. Start writing.
  4. Once you're done, publish your changes.
  5. Once you feel like you're done with the whole entire article, submit your draft for review by clicking the blue button at the top of your screen.


Here are reasons why you might get accepted.

- You have enough reliable sources that are related to the subject.

- The article is written in the right tone.

- No opinions.

Here are reasons why you might get declined.

- You have no reliable sources, or you don't have enough that are related.

- There are opinions.

- The article isn't in the correct tone.

Here's how to cite.


On mobile:

  1. Switch to the visual editor
  2. Type a sentence in
  3. Find a website to match the information
  4. Copy the website's URL (link)
  5. Go back to Wikipedia.
  6. Select the sentence and press the quotation mark icon (") at the top of your screen.
  7. Click Automatic.
  8. Paste in the website URL.
  9. Click the Create button.
  10. Now there should be a number. (At the end of the sentence you selected there should be "[number]".)
  11. Now you have a reference.
