Youbel Sondakh (born August 19, 1984) is an Indonesian professional basketball coach who is the head coach for Satria Muda Pertamina of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) and was a former player.[1][2]
Professional career
During his pro career, Sondakh faced a articular cartilage damage that made his decision to retire in 2012 at the age of 28.[3]
Coaching career
Sondakh's coaching career began in 2012, where after deciding to retire, Youbel took on the role of coach at Satria Muda Junior. In 2014, Sondakh was entrusted with the position of assistant coach to accompany Tjokorda Raka. Youbel then took over as head coach starting in the 2017 season, and succeeded in winning his first title as a coach in 2018 after beating Pelita Jaya Jakarta in the finals. Sondakh became the third coach to ever win as a player and a coach with Satria Muda.[4]
