Fanwalk, fan walk or fan-walk, is the practice of football fans meeting before a football match, and walking as a large group to the stadium to watch a special football match. There can be many thousands of fans joining the walk. Typically they all support the same team. And they could typically be away fans. That is, fans visiting another town or country to see their local team play. Sometimes fan coaches accompany the fanwalk, and the fans dress up and carry banners representing their team. Fanwalks are typically organised by the relevant football club, and coordinated with police and local amenities to serve food and drinks to the fans. With beer being popular.

Other uses The term fanwalk can also mean an organised visiter tour of sport facilities, as well as a name for a walkway to a stadium.

Origins

It's origins appear to be from Dutch and German speaking countries from 2010 onwards. It grew to wider use during football matches in 2024.
