Cozy Grove is a life simulation game released in 2021. It was developed by American game study Spry Fox. The player character, a Spirit Scout, is tasked with soothing restless spirits

Gameplay

Cozy Grove is a life simulation game taking place on an island. The player character, whose appearance and apparel can be customized, is tasked with helping spirits enter the afterlife by completing tasks, that differ depending on the character. The game involves scavenging and crafting for items. The game takes place in real time, with no option to skip or forward time. Every day has a new set of tasks for the player[1]

Development

Cozy Grove was inspired by Animal Crossing. Spry Fox CEO David Edery said he wanted to create a game that is somewhat similar to an iteration of Animal Crossing's formula, but has more focus on story.[2]

Release

Cozy Grove was released on March 19 2021 on iOS, and April 8 2021 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Reception

Cozy Grove received "mixed and average" reviews according to Metacritic, with an average score on 71 for Nintendo Switch and PS4, and 72 for PC[3]
