Tom Rutland is a British Labour Party politician who has been Member of Parliament (MP) for East Worthing and Shoreham since 2024.[2]

Education

Rutland attended The Skinners' School in Tunbridge Wells and read philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE) at Jesus College, Oxford between 2010 and 2013, graduating with an upper second class degree.[3] He was Junior Common Room president at Jesus and subsequently president of Oxford University Student Union from 2013 to 2014.[4][5]

Employment

Rutland has worked as a press officer for the Financial Conduct Authority, Imperial College London, and the Prospect trade union.[6][7]

Political career

Rutland was a councillor for Streatham Common and Vale ward on Lambeth London Borough Council from 2022 to 2024.[8]
