Poonam Chan Solanki, an advocate from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, gained fame for his five-year court battle against Asaram Bapu, a minor's rape victim. Solanki joined the bar council of Rajasthan in 1996 and has fought numerous cases in High Court, Supreme Court, and Session courts.[1] In 2013, Asaram Bapu was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh. The girl's parents sought Solanki's assistance after consulting multiple lawyers. Solanki remained unfazed, and the Jodhpur Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Court found Asaram guilty of rape in April 2018, and he was sentenced to life in prison.[2]
