Maximum Life Skills Academy is a now closed academy That was located in Cedar City, Utah. The facility ran for approximately two years before it was shut down due to a violent murder of a staff member by two members of the program.

The Death of Anson Arnett
On March 8, 2004 31 year old staff member Anson Arnett while on his rounds, was the only staff member at the facility when he was ambushed and beaten with an aluminum baseball bat by two 17-year old program attendees Jesse Simmons and Sean Graham. Arnett was then stuffed by the two teens upside-down inside of a locked closet before they cut the phone line, and stole a van belonging to the program and drove away, Simmons and Graham were apprehended on March 9, 2004 in Las Vegas.
Four boys who were also at the program rushed to a nearby counselors home and alerted another staff member of the incident. 1 1/2 hours had lapsed from the time of the beating before Arnett was found by staff and taken to the hospital, Arnett passed away due to his injuries on March 9, 2004.
