Mabel Victoria Elliot (16 June 1884 - 13 March 1960) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life

Her father was Hugh Frederick Hislop Elliot (23 February 1848 - 30 April 1932) from London, England; the Viscount Melgund, the third son of the Earl of Minto. He became a clerk in the House of Commons, and later a Liberal Unionist MP.[3]

Her mother was Mary Euphemia Long (1856 - 1834) from Bromley Hill in Kent, England. She was the second daughter of Colonel Samuel Long. Hugh and Mary married on 15 July 1879 at St. George's, Hanover Square in London.[4]

Mabel Victoria Elliot was born on 16 June 1884 in Minto in the Scottish Borders.

She married the artist Hugh Munro (8 September 1881 - 28 July 1928) from Glasgow.[5] They married on 7 March 1916 at the Sheriff Court house in Edinburgh.[6][7][8]

She married the artist William Stewart MacGeorge (1 April 1861 – 9 November 1931) of Kelton in Kirkcudbrightshire. They married on 9 October 1929 in Edinburgh.
