Aimane El Khader Belachhab
Aimane El Khader Belachhab (born March 11, 2002[1]), known professionally as Aimane, is a Moroccan rapper from Tangier. Known for his lyrical prowess, Aimane has been active in the rap scene since 2018 and started his professional career in September 2023. He aspires to be the best lyrical rapper ever and uses his music to share diverse opinions and ideas.
Early Life and Background
Aimane was born and raised in the Branes neighborhood of Tangier, Morocco. His first exposure to rap music was with Fnaire's "Yed L7enna," and the first track that gave him goosebumps was "Dmou3 Lwil" by Muslim. He discovered his passion for rap during his teenage years, initially inspired by Moroccan artists Muslim, Wadrari Squad, and Zanka Flow. As his musical journey progressed, he started drawing inspiration from UK rap, which deeply influenced his style. The concept of death is a significant source of inspiration for his writing, as he believes that understanding death leads to a deeper understanding of life.
Music Career
Aimane began rapping in 2018, quickly gaining attention for his complex lyrics and compelling delivery. By 2023, he had honed his craft and was ready to launch his professional career. In September 2023, Aimane officially started his professional career. He released an album without a name and cover, showcasing his bold and unconventional approach to music. The album included the track 'AS2ILA,' which serves as an introduction to his forthcoming EP of the same name. Each song in the EP poses questions that Aimane plans to answer in future projects.
Aimane’s upcoming album, "Telafi," delves into a deeply personal narrative. The day his house burned down in 2009 was a pivotal moment, marking the day of his lust. The track "Telafi," which serves as an introduction to this album, explores this theme. In Arabic, "Telafi" means "my lust." In this album, Aimane will talk about how that day impacted his whole life and discuss the things he realized day after day following that event.
Personal Life
Outside of his music career, Aimane is a business student. He also practiced taekwondo and was close to achieving his first dan but quit three months before obtaining it. In addition to music, Aimane has explored various forms of art, including acting, drawing, graphic design, and theatre. Despite his diverse artistic pursuits, he finds the most comfort and passion in writing and music.
Aimane possesses a photographic imagination, which he used extensively as a child to escape his difficult reality. In 2009, his house burned down, causing significant family problems that negatively impacted his life. To cope, Aimane imagined a better world every night, marking the beginning of his artistic journey.
