Huerteales is the botanical name for a order of flowering plants. An order by this name, Huerteales Doweld (2001), has been rarely recognized by taxonomists, and is not recognized in the APG II system (2003).

However, the AP-Website [accessed 10 June 2006] does recognize it and places it in the eurosids II. There the order consists of families Dipentodontaceae and Tapisciaceae and the genus Perrottetia, or, in other words, of four genera of little known woody plants:

  • Dipentodon
  • Huertea
  • Perrottetia
  • Tapiscia

The traditional placement of Huertea and Tapscia is in family Staphyleaceae, that of Perrottetia in family Celastraceae, while Dipentodon often constitutes its own family Dipentodontaceae.
