Harold Marcuse has been a professor of German history at the University of California, Santa Barbara since 1992. There is a wikipedia article under my name; more information can be found on my homepage: https://marcuse.faculty.history.ucsb.edu/.

My research area is the history of Germany after 1945, in particular how the two Germanies have looked back at the Nazi period (which has changed a great deal over the decades). I also study monuments, memorials and museums. My UCSB website has many pages about the courses I teach, on German history 1800-1900, 1890-1945, and 1945-present, also on the Nazi Holocaust and Other Genocides, and World History since 1700.
