Nantucket Reds™ are a style of pants by Murray's Toggery Shop of Nantucket, Massachusetts. Originally adopted from the uniforms of the New York Yacht Club, Nantucket Reds are distinctive in that they fade to a light pink as they age. Since their inception, the cotton canvas pants have been marketed as shorts, and the trademark salmon red color has been adopted on hats, shirts, sweaters and socks. The summer styles of 2005 and 2006 saw an attempt to mainstream the Nantucket Reds by retailer J. Crew. Nantucket Reds are worn almost exclusively by summer vacationers on Nantucket and not by year-round residents.
