'Ponderosa High School is a high school in Parker, Colorado. It is part of Douglas County School District RE-1.
The school earned an "Excellent" rating on the Colorado Student Assessment Program in 2004, and a "High" score in 2005.[1]
Notable graduates include Dana Perino, Acting White House Press Secretary and Denver Radio Personality Tracy Taylor (nee Jennifer Allison).
Athletics
Ponderosa has won seven 5A state wrestling titles since 1997, including 5 consecutive between 2003-2007. In addition, Ponderosa has a perfect 110-0 conference dual record from 1994-present [2]. The team is coached by Tim Ottmann.
April 20th, 2007
On April 20th, 2007, On the 8th anniversary of the Columbine Massacre, a explosion was set off outside of the school. Students were evacuated, and classes were canceled for the remainder of the day. The student with the bomb was caught, where he had unmixed chemicals in his backpack. No one was injured.
