Game Modes

The game features many different modes of Tetris play, such as Marathon, introduced in Tetris DS. New Ultra and Race modes have been introduced for this game, where you compete against a timer to score points or clear lines respectively. There is also Cascade mode were extra points are awarded if the lines you clear cause other lines to clear, Score mode were it is a race to get to a certain score and Go Low mode were points are awarded based on how high your highest block is.

Downloadable Content

Four new backgrounds and four new Tetris skins are available for purchase on the Xbox Live marketplace.[2]

Reception

The game was given a lukewarm reception by most reviewers. Many criticised it for it's lack of innovation, limited game modes and high price. Gamespot gave the game a 6.6 saying "The single-player and multiplayer options are solid yet predictable, and the game's got all the personality of a screensaver. If 22 years of Tetris have left you tired of the formula, Tetris Evolution will do very little to reignite your passion for this classic Russian mind-bender"[3]. However, it did praise it for being the first THQ Tetris to have the ablity to chose whether "infinite rotation" is possible.

It has a rating of 55 at Metacritic.[4]
