Bindura University of Science Education

Bindura University of Science Education is a Zimbabwean university offering cources mainly in science education though recently courses in commerce and computer science are now being offered.

The main campus is located 5km from Bindura town center with a separate campus which houses the department of computer science being separately located on the Trojan Road.

History

The origins of Bindura university date back to the Zimbabwe/Cuba teacher training period where Zimbabwean teachers were being trained in Cuba. In the late nineties it was decided that a local programme be designed train the teachers localy resulting in the birth of Bindura university college of science education (BUCSE). BUCSE was originally a faculty under University of Zimbabwe and was offering training in Bachelor of Science with Education in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Geography. The University attained full university status in 2002 changing the name to Bindura university of Science Education.
