Inside Delta Force: The Story of America's Elite Counterterrorist Unit is a book written by Eric L. Haney, a founding member of Delta Force. The book is a memoir covering Haney's experiences during the formation and early operations of the 1st Sepcial Forces Operational Detachment - Delta. The book covers Haney's recruitment into the Delta Force, as well as the tests the army gave him to determine if he was worthy, including a "final exam" that involved evading the FBI, and many of the assignments/missions that Delta Force was sent on. Haney also focuses on the interservice rivalries within the United States government, including his opinion that the Central Intelligence Agency compromised several Delta Force Missions.[1]

The CBS television series The Unit was inspired by Inside Delta Force. Haney is actively involved in the show's production as a writer, producer, and technical advisor.[2]
