Hoax articles

Thanks for your inputs regarding the hoax articles. Corvus cornix 15:53, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think we're seeing the hoaxes for what they are. If you think there should be blocks, try a writeup at WP:RFC. Corvus cornix 20:51, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't disagree with you, if they keep hoaxing, then bans are definitely in order. Corvus cornix 20:58, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have the same strength of assuming good faith that others have. I don't think these new versions are really parents or school officials, just the kid(s) who got caught trying to weasel out of it. But so long as they don't do any more damage, so be it. Corvus cornix 21:05, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Once an IP has been tainted, I don't see the logical possibility of assuming anything other than suspicion. --76.83.249.234 21:20, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for disrupting Wikipedia by making personal attacks. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. Your comments on Talk:Barbaro family are completely unacceptable. Please take some time off and cool off. When you come back, you must not make personal attacks and be incivil towards other users. Please also take time to read up on policies and guidelines to learn what is acceptable in articles and what's not. --Aude (talk) 19:19, 8 July 2007 (UTC)ّّّ[reply]

  • I was undiplomatic certainly. But afterall, this is a known hoaxer we're dealing with. Or is calling out a known hoaxer considered a personal attack? I agree that some of the other things I said were undiplomatic, but is calling out a hoaxer considered a personal attack too? Anyway, I don't disagree with your rigid enforcement of Wikipedia policy. I do wish you had let me know about it beforehand as the hoaxer is now butchering some of my posts and I can't call attention to that, but I've wasted enough time with this anyway so you've really done me a favor. As for cooling off, I wrote everything I did in a calm repose and with a measure of amused exasperation. I do hope you blocked the hoaxer as well.--76.83.249.234 21:21, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aude Comment on Barbaro Family Page

Since Aude has posted this:

In addition to User:F550, an IP was blocked today for making the same personal attacks:

76.83.249.234 (talk • contribs • WHOIS • RDNS • trace • RBLs • block user • block log) --Aude (talk) 02:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

on the Barbaro family article page after temporarily banning my IP I feel justified in asking what he/she means by "the same personal attacks"? In my humble opinion, such a vague statement has no place anywhere, let alone on wikipedia, and so I ask for clarification on this point from Aude.

If Aude is implying I'm also a part of the hoax, I can only ask people to look at the history of my IP number on Wikipedia. That's all that lies in my power. Just look at the history. Injudicious, undiplomatic comments sans vulgarity (unlike Tiki-Two), yes. Playing a part in some hoax, never.
