Demophilus (d 480 BC) son of Diadromes.

Demophilus led a contingent of about 700 the Thespians at the Battle of Thermopylae (480 BC). On August 11 Leonidas the Spartan king and commander of the Greek army at Thermopylae realized that further fighting would be futile, so he dismissed all but the 300 Spartans. The Thespians, led by Demophilus, volunteered to stay in the suicidal effort to delay the Persian advance. They fought along side the Spartans until they were all overwhelmed and killed to the last man.
