Opera News is one of America’s leading classical music magazines, and possibly through its international circulation the most popular opera magazine published today. Published through the Lincoln Center offices of the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Opera News was initially focused primarily on the Met, particularly the Saturday afternoon live broadcasts that have been a feature of the company through the last century. With time, the periodical became a leading information source on the international opera scene. Currently published monthly, the magazine contains informative articles, artist and production profiles and reviews of performances in the United States and Europe as well as coverage of recordings, videos, and audio equipment. The Editor-in-Chief is currently F. Paul Driscoll. Regular contributors to the magazine include some among the most well known and honored classical music commentators, including Brian Kellow, Justin Davidson, Peter G. Davis, Tim Page, Judith Malfronte, Mark Thomas Ketterson, Martin Bernheimer, and Adam Wasserman. An online edition of the magazine allows subscribers to access additional reviews and articles as well as participate in an online chat forum.
