I am Editmaniac. I like to edit. Duh.

About me: I have edited Wikipedia as an anonymous user for about four years now. I only decided to create an account because I got a lot of flak for not having one already. People aren't really likely to believe the word of an IP here on Wikipedia, even if they're reasonable (or right).

Why I edit: Some people like to think they're better than the rest of us here. They quote policies and essays and whatnot, claiming people who disagree with them are wrong. This is not conducive to the success of Wikipedia. Consensus is the key. A single editor cannot claim to be right without the support of other editors. And they most certainly can't hide behind policy to bully people as they themselves are violating the very same policies.

Do I have a chip on my shoulder? Perhaps. I got into a lot of tussles as an IP when established editors assumed bad faith about my edits and claimed I was no more than an anonymous vandal. But will I let that chip interfere with my editing? No. I got an account because I think that kind of misuse of editing power (to bully and harass with false accusations and false claims of consensus) is evidence of an underlying problem here at Wikipedia, one which I'm trying to rectify by properly following policies and getting consensus if my edits are challenged, assuming good faith about edits, and not accusing editors of harassment simply because I disagree with them.

In short: I will be bold, but I won't be arrogant or rude. Reading this page might help you understand where I'm coming from.
