Jan Urban

Jan Urban (born 14 May, 1962 in Jaworzno) is a retired Polish football (soccer) player.

He played for a few clubs, including Zagłębie Sosnowiec, Górnik Zabrze, he then went to Spain and played for CA Osasuna, Real Valladolid and CD Toledo. Urban was the first player who while playing for an away team scored a hat-trick against Real Madrid in Madrid. He did it playing for Osasuna on December 30th 1990 in a 4-0 beating.

He played for the Polish national team (57 matches/7 goals) and was a participant at the 1986 FIFA World Cup.

He later began a coaching career, working as a coach for CA Osasuna's youth squad in 2004-05, and then in the offices of the club until the end of 2006-07. In summer of 2007 he took over as head coach of Legia Warszawa in his native Poland.
