Time Runners is the name of a series of British novels by Justin Richards, who has previously written many Doctor Who novels. The first novel in the series, Freeze-Framed, was released in March 2007.[1] The second book "Rewind Assassin" was released on the 6th August 2007.

The series involves evil time creatures and a boy called Jamie Grant who's world changes completely once he meets the mysterious Anna. Subsequent books in the series (yet to be published) are called Past Forward. A fourth book has been planned.

Freeze-Framed

Synopsis

At first Jamie Grant thinks people are just ignoring him. His teacher, his classmates and even his own mother are suddenly acting as if he’s not around. He’s fallen off the register at school, people don’t reply to his questions, and he’s not even showing up in old family photos. Creepy or what?

A mysterious girl, Anna, seems to be the only one paying him any attention. She tells Jamie he doesn’t exist. He never has. He has fallen through a time break and as a result was never born. It happened to her, so she knows what she is talking about.

The two of them maybe outside of time, but they have the power to control it. As Time Runners it is up to them to put things right. But can they prevent the sinister Darkling Midnight and his gruesome creatures - the Skitters - from changing history forever?

Rewind Assassin

Jamie is now a Time Runner – recruited to fix problems with time and keep history on the right track. Teamed with his friend Anna, their latest mission takes them to London in 1596 to prevent an assassination. But the man they’re looking for is no ordinary assassin. Dressed in a modern business suit and with a high-powered sniper rifle the killer has his target in his sights. All history could be changed if Jamie and Anna don’t stop him – because it seems he’s out to kill William Shakespeare.

Jamie’s old enemy Darkling Midnight wants to form an alliance to stop the assassin. But can he be trusted?

As the Spanish Armada, wrecked and defeated eight years previously, surfaces from the watery depths and soldiers who should be long-dead leap ashore to invade England, Jamie and Anna realise that nothing is quite as it seems. It will take all their courage and ingenuity to defeat their sinister enemy…
