Character Info
Lex is the child of two divorced parents who have been ignoring him due to their own issues. He is very intelligent and smart, for he reads a lot and is always eager to learn more. His mother had gotten remarried to Daley's father, whom became the stepbrother of Daley Marin.
Because of his age and annoying behavior, others don't take him seriously. He is a storehouse of knowledge, for he has read enough books to know all kinds of things. Lex doesn't get involved with social politics, so he can observe and comment objectively.
Lex had joined Daley and nine other students from Hartwell School on the Micronesia EcoAdventure Tour to Palau. However, en route, they get stranded on a deserted island.
When Jackson was elected leader, he was given the job to make life on the island a little more like home, and also working on ways to get off the island. So far, he fixed up the radio to receive radio transmissions, be connected to an MP3 player, set up a signal kite (which got torched by a flare gun), and a sign for a plane to see that the survivors were still alive. He even know a lot about leeches, tree climbing, oysters, and medical treatment.
Even though he is little, he is a valuable asset to the group. When other people were thinking who was going to be in charge or who had a crush on who, he was worrying about things that were a lot more important. And with such knowledge in him, there would be that line that they ask "how do you know so much?".
To try and bring the survivors together, Lex built an obstacle course and challenged the others to a competition. In actuality, this was to lift his spirits and the others when this special day happened to be his birthday. It turned out the only person who remembered was Jackson, and then spread it to the others about it as well. They then surprised him with his sign on a raft to be sent out into the water like a message in a bottle.
After Abby had left the group to find the other survivors, Lex witnessed Eric looking into someone else's video diary. Though this diary belonged to Jackson, he accidentally watched and listened to what was being said behind Eric's back. Knowing Eric, Lex had to take Jackson's tape to cover for him, so Eric could not use the information as proof against him. To cover his tracks, Lex took everyone else's tape. Once the other students had learned that their tapes were missing, Nathan and Daley came to a conclusion that Lex took them. But news of their discovery was heard when the other students rushed him, and Lex was put up on trial. Lex admitted that he did take the tapes to keep them from Eric. Then, Eric exposed to the group it was Jackson's tape he watched and that he had no intention to return home or be found, and that a guy got stabbed in a fight with him.
Lex revealed to the group that he grew a garden for the group in case of depletion of food.
Lex was chosen by Daley to design their new homes while on the island. He was flustered on how it was to be designed, but everyone had faith in him.
Eric confided in Lex that he wanted to leave the group and take off in scouting the island, when he was discovered for being responsible for some of the supplies to be missing.
Lex accidentally let slip that Eric stole some items from the camp, but did not say for what reason. For his Chilloween present, he made items for a shower.
In "The hotel Tango' or otherwise known as 'the flight 29 down movie' A different side of Lex is shown: He blames Daley for the group's break-up. He even says that it might have been wrong for them to stay, so he leaves by himself, until Daley, Taylor, and Nathan catch him. That's when Taylor convinces him to stay then lies to Daley saying he'll only stay if she does all the work. Even though the group finds out about the lie, Lex is still mad at Daley. When he and Taylor see a satellite Taylor makes a wish (even though Lex told her it wasn't a shooting star) Taylor jockingly asks that the stelite come down and save them, Lex then wishes that everything were back to the way they were before his dad dies. Taylor then hugs him and gives him a kiss on his forehead, who would have known Daley was watching (if Lex's dad din't die Daley wouldn't be his sister). Daley then tries to be spontanious by setting out there S.O.S. alarm when a ship came, but it turned outto be a whale, making Lex more mad. Lex then makes sihgnaling lights to beam over the ocean for the satelites to see. Daley turns them to beam up and when Lex see's he gets even more mad, but when the umm 'specail' pilot comes for revenge Lex throws himself in front of Daley. In the end the satellite did notice the light beaming up and they are rescued, Lex apologizes to Daley. Who knows? he just turned 11 it could just be angst!
