Christ the King Catholic School is a Catholic elementary and secondary school located in the city of Pleasant Hill, California. The school provides education to students from kindergarten to eighth grade. It is administered under the Diocese of Oakland. The school principal is Mrs. Linda Basman, and the pastor is Father Brian Joyce. (There are many schools that go by the name Christ the King. There is one in Mesa, Arizona.)

History

Christ the King opened its doors on September 5, 1961, with a total of 200 students. The school continued to expand from the original four grades taught in 1961, adding a kindergarten and fifth through eighth grades. In May of 1999, a fire destroyed most of the original school building, which was subsequently rebuilt.
