The Vadodara rail collision occurred on 21 April 2005

In the accident a passenger express and a goods train collided.


A “mistake” by two employees has been blamed, but details are sketchy.


18 People have been killed.


Signal systems are said to be obsolete at many stations


Obsolete is not the same as worn out.


Pictures of the accident show that the line is electrified, which may imply that signals are of the colour light kind.
