Edward Wilson b.1821 Edinburgh, Scotland d. ?

Edward Wilson was a civil engineer who was also locomotive superintendent for the Hull & Selby Railway prior to 1847, then held a similar post on the York & North Midland Railway 1847-1853 [in 1851 he was resident in York], then Midland Great Western Railway [Ireland] 1853-1856 and finally on the West Midland Railway 1863-1864 [he had been resident in Worcester from at least 1861]. Following the amalgamation of the WMR with the Great Western Railway in 1864 Wilson became Construction Engineer, West Midland Division, GWR. By 1871 he appears to have taken up civil engineering practice in Westminster. Unmarried by 1871, his fate is not known.
